LumberKings Manager Jack Dahm Steps Down to Lead Cape Cod League’s Falmouth Commodores

CLINTON, Ia. – The Clinton LumberKings announced today that Manager Jack Dahm will step down after five seasons to accept the manager position with the Falmouth Commodores of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.

Dahm joined the LumberKings in 2021 and guided the team to 157 wins, four playoff appearances, and two division titles, while helping develop nine players selected in the MLB Draft during his tenure. His leadership, baseball knowledge, and commitment to players and the Clinton community have left an enduring mark on the organization.

"We are so grateful for the work that Jack has done here in Clinton," said LumberKings General Manager Nate Vander Bleek. "He will be missed but we are so excited for him to get this opportunity in the Cape Cod Baseball League. We can't wait to see him continue to work with the next generation of big-leaguers."

A seasoned and respected leader in Midwest baseball, Dahm brought over three decades of coaching experience to the LumberKings dugout. Also serving as head baseball coach at Mount Mercy University, he surpassed the 800-win milestone in his collegiate coaching career during the 2025 college season. Before arriving in Clinton, Dahm spent a decade at the University of Iowa (2003–13), leading the Hawkeyes to three Big Ten Tournament appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2010—their best since 1982. He previously served as head coach at Creighton University from 1994 to 2003, where he became the program’s all-time winningest coach. A Creighton alum and former player himself, Dahm has built a consistent culture of competitiveness, discipline, and respect at every level he has coached.

During Dahm’s tenure in Clinton, the following players have gone on to be drafted or signed by MLB clubs: Tommy Specht (TEX), Ben Beutel (CWS), Jay Beshears (SDP), Jared Simpson (WAS), Brody Brecht (COL), Jackson Kent (WAS), Jack Young (CWS), Max Holy (HOU), Seth Clausen (COL), Casey Hintz (SEA), and Owen Puk (WAS).

The LumberKings will announce their next manager in the coming weeks as preparations for the 2026 Prospect League season get underway.
