LumberKings Score 15 in Run-Rule Victory Over Doggy Paddlers

Clinton, IA - The Clinton LumberKings (5-5) posted a season-high in runs in a 15-0 win over the Quincy Doggy Paddlers (5-5) in seven innings June 5 at NelsonCorp Field.

 

The game ended in seven innings due to the 10-run rule. Clinton has won four straight at home, with tonight's game being in front of 3,193 fans. 

 

The LumberKings scored three times in the first, twice in the third and fourth, six times in the sixth and twice in the seventh. 

 

Three Clinton hurlers combined for seven shutout innings. Luke Kerhli (Mount Mercy) tossed four scoreless innings, striking out three and stranding the bases loaded in the fourth. 

 

Kasey Clark (Black Hawk) got the win with a shutout in the fifth. Keegan Luxem (UIC) tossed two scoreless in his LumberKing debut. 

 

Isaac Sobieszczyk (Missouri Western State) got the party going with an RBI single in the first to score Jaylen Ziegler (Iowa).

 

Cole Lanclos (Baylor) and Grant Ingram (Bellarmine) each got an RBI on a sacrifice fly and single respectively, 

 

Gavin Awbrey (SCC) blasted a homerun for his first of the season to lead off the bottom of the third. The homer traveled 396ft, as he finished the game with 10 RBI

 

 

Lanclos and Ingram combined for another run in the same inning, with the Baylor second baseman singling and stealing second and third. Ingram drove him home with an RBI. 

 

Clinton finished with seven stolen bases. Lanclos and Archer Ogbourne (Jacksonville) each had three. 

 

The LumberKings began the fourth with a Ziegler double. Awbrey brought him home on a groundout.

 

With two outs, Sobiezczyk and Lanclos both ripped doubles to make it 7-0. Sobiezczyk has three doubles in his last two games.

 

 

Clinton tacked on six more in a big fifth inning. After a pair of walks, WIll Specht (Iowa Central) singled to right field in his first at-bat of the season. Ben Toft (Iowa) followed up with an RBI single. 

 

Danny Sanchez (Northern State) picked up his first RBI of the season on a single within the rally. At the end of it, the team led 13-0.

 

Parker Studtmann (Iowa Central) also picked up his first Clinton hit with a two-RBI double in the sixth. 

 

This win was the most dominant since a 17-0 victory over Illinois Valley on June 1st, 2025.
