Mishler’s Seven RBI Performance Leads LumberKings to 10th Win Of Season

O'Fallon, MO - Jackson Mishler (Black Hawk College) had a grand slam and seven RBI to lead the Clinton LumberKings (10-7) to a 17-5 win over the O'Fallon Hoots (7-11) at CarShield Field June 14.

 

The game ended after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

 

Clinton has won four-straight games, its longest win streak of the season. They have scored double digit runs in their last four. 

 

The win marked their 10th of the season, as they closed out this six-game road-trip 4-2.

 

The LumberKings scored 16 runs in the first four innings of the game. The team had 13 hits, while working eight walks and being hit by five pitches. 

 

Mishler was not the only offensive contributor, Jaylen Ziegler (Iowa) drove in three runs, while Parker Studtman (Iowa Central) and Will Specht (Iowa Central) had two RBI. Noah Thein (Washington State) registered four hits.

 

Studtman started the scoring with a two-run, first inning homerun. It was his second homerun of the season. 

 

After O'Fallon punched back with a run, Thein led off the second with a double. After a hit by pitch and walk, Ben Toft (Iowa) walked in a run for an RBI. He has four RBI in his last two.

 

The LumberKings scored four times on three hits in the third, Kaden Frommelt (Florida State) singled, Isaac Sobieszczyk (Missouri Western) walked and Thein singled to kick off the rally. Specht picked up an RBI walk to keep the bases loaded.

 

Misher blasted a double to the left field gap to clear the bases and make it 7-1. 

 

O'Fallon scored three in the bottom of the third. The LumberKings kept their foot on the gas with four in the fourth. Clinton did it in four hits: Sobieszczyk and Thein singled, Specht had an RBI double, and Ziegler drove a double later in the inning. 

 

Ziegler's extra base hit brought home two. He also stole two bases during the game to get to 19 on the season.

 

The LumberKings scored five more in the fifth on the Mishler Grand Slam. His 7 RBi tied the most in a single LumberKing game since joining the Prospect League. 

 

An error in the fifth allowed Ziegler to score. He has 19 runs on the season. 

 

Ziegler had an RBI single in the seventh to get the teams to 17 runs.

 

The LumberKings bullpen combined for four innings of one run allowed. Brayden Billingsley (John Melvin) threw the fourth inning, while allowing one run.

 

Chase Reeder (Iowa Central), Conner Diiulio (SCC) and Cooper Hathaway (Highland CC) each threw a scoreless inning to finish the game out.

 

Reeder got the win, Ethan Milius got the loss.
