Gavin Awbrey and Keegan Luxem selected as 2026 Prospect League All-Stars
Lafayette, Ind. - The Prospect League revealed today the 2026 All-Star Game Rosters. 60 players, 30 from the East and 30 from the West, will head to Lafayette, Indiana on Tuesday, July 7.
Each conference's roster was built with 12 pitchers and 18 position players, two at each lineup position, and every Prospect League team represented. The Lafayette Aviators lead the East with five selections, followed by the Terre Haute Rex with four. The Normal CornBelters lead the West with five selections, followed by the Cape Catfish and O'Fallon Hoots with four.
The 2026 Prospect League All-Star Game will be played at 7:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 7, at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette, Indiana. The Lafayette Aviators coaching staff will manage the East, and the Cape Catfish coaching staff will manage the West.
The All-Star Game will air live on the Prospect League Network beginning at 6:40 p.m. ET.
For the LumberKings, Gavin Awbrey (SCC) was selected at third base and Keegan Luxem (UIC) was selected as a pitcher.
Awbrey has started in 22 games for the LumberKings and has been among the league's leading hitters. The Southeastern freshman is in the top ten in the Prospect League in RBI (33), home runs (6), on-base percentage (.510), slugging percentage (.641) and hit by pitches (13). Awbrey's 33 RBI are second in the Prospect League, and he has eight games with multiple RBI. The righty drove in five runs on June 12 in a 20-2 win at Thrillville.
Luxem has made four appearances and three starts for the LumberKings. The UIC freshman was named the Week 4 Prospect League Pitcher of the Week after tossing seven scoreless innings in a complete game victory on June 17. It was only the third complete game in LumberKings history and the first since 2022. The righty has struck out 18 batters, good for a 10.13 K/9 on the season.
The Prospect League will also hold a Home Run Derby at 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday, July 6 at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette. Awbrey is one of eight participants in the derby.
The All-Star Game and Home Run Derby will air live on the Prospect League Network, with the voice of the LumberKings, Liam Sample, on the call for the Derby and serving as a field reporter for the All-Star Game. Both events will be broadcast on the Prospect League Network.
